Self-Help Group (SHG) Empowerment Programme

Introduction:

Our Self-Help Group (SHG) Empowerment Programme is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering women and marginalized communities through collective action, capacity-building, and economic self-sufficiency. SHGs play a crucial role in fostering community development, social cohesion, and financial inclusion, enabling members to improve their livelihoods and break the cycle of poverty.

Objectives:

  1. Women’s Empowerment: To empower women by providing them with opportunities for skill development, entrepreneurship, and leadership within their communities.

  2. Financial Inclusion: To promote financial literacy, access to credit, and savings mobilization among SHG members, enabling them to invest in income-generating activities and meet their household needs.

  3. Community Development: To strengthen social capital and community resilience through collective decision-making, mutual support, and solidarity among SHG members.

Key Components:

  1. Formation of SHGs: Facilitating the formation of SHGs by bringing together women from similar socio-economic backgrounds to form cohesive and supportive groups.

  2. Capacity Building: Providing training and capacity-building workshops on various topics including financial management, entrepreneurship, leadership, and skill development.

  3. Access to Credit: Facilitating linkages with financial institutions and microfinance providers to enable SHG members to access affordable credit for income-generating activities and livelihood improvement.

  4. Livelihood Promotion: Supporting SHG members in identifying viable livelihood opportunities and providing assistance in setting up micro-enterprises and income-generating activities.

  5. Social Empowerment: Promoting gender equality, social inclusion, and women’s leadership within SHGs and the broader community through awareness-raising campaigns and advocacy efforts.

Impact:

Our SHG Empowerment Programme has empowered thousands of women and marginalized individuals across communities, leading to tangible improvements in their socio-economic status, access to resources, and quality of life. By fostering a culture of self-reliance and collective action, SHGs have become catalysts for positive change and sustainable development.
